Ik vind het in Kaikourai niet aan te raden om in het toeristische gedeelte te overnachten. Hier vind je meer hostels en motels. Mijn tip is om in de heuvels van Kaikoura te overnachten. Hier kun je genieten van het mooie uitzicht.

Wij hebben verbleven bij Manakau Lodge. Bij Manakau Logde heerst een hele gemoedelijke sfeer en je kunt optimaal genieten van het mooie uitzicht. Bij aankomst hebben we heerlijk genoten van een kaasplank en een lekker Nieuw Zeelandse wijn. Je hebt gelijk het vakantie gevoel. En aangezien we nog een jetlag hadden werden we vroeg wakker. Maar dat was zeker geen straf. We werden verrast door de mooiste zonsopkomst die ik ooit heb gezien. Elke minuut zag het plaatje er weer anders uit. Vanaf onze kamer hadden we prachtig uitzicht en in de verte te oceaan.

Als we weer in keer in Nieuw Zeeland zijn, komen we zeker weer terug bij Manakau Lodge. Want oh wat waren de ontbijtjes lekker en goed verzorgd.
