Ik ben een groot fan van lekker eten en wijn. Dan zit je in Kaapstad goed. Kaapstad heeft namelijk veel goede restaurants, die zelfs behoren tot de top van de wereld. Als ik in Kaapstad ben ga ik graag naar dit soort restaurants. Veel van deze beste restaurants van Kaapstad zijn te vinden buiten het centrum, bijvoorbeeld in Woodstock, Constantia of in de Wijnlanden (Stellenbosch, Franschhoek en Paarl). Hieronder lees je meer over de beste finedining restaurants van Kaapstad en omgeving.

La Colombe


La Colombe behoort toch wel tot mijn favoriet van finedining in Zuid Afrika. Het ligt in de omgeving van het mooie wijn gebied in Constantia. Deze scenery maakt het overheerlijke eten compleet. Le Colombe komt op de tweede plek van beste restaurant van Zuid Afrika. Op de eerste plek staat de The Test Kitchen. In 2017 stond La Colombe op de 73e plek in de lijst van The World’s Best Restaurants. Zeker een aanrader dus om heerlijk te dineren. Ga dan overigens voor het uitgebreide Sample menu met wijn arrangement! Ik kan niet wachten tot september , want dan hebben we weer geserveerd bij La Colombe. En sinds augustus 2017 is in Franschhoek La Petite Colombe geopend. Ook daar hebben we gereserveerd. Dus wordt vervolgd! Hier lees je meer over La Colombe.

La Petit Colombe

Franschhoek, de culinaire hoofdstad van Zuid Afrika, is sinds augustus weer een top restaurant rijker. La Petit Colombe, het zusje van La Colombe, heeft haar deuren geopend waar voorheen de The Tasting Room zat. Wat een aanwinst!  Een echte aanrader om een avond culinair te genieten! The GreenHouse


Nog een fijn culinair restaurant in Constantia. Sowieso moet ik hier even zeggen dat Constantia echt heel mooi is. De prachtige heuvels, bossen en wijnranken maakt het tot een van mijn favoriete gebiedjes rondom Kaapstad. Maar verder met The Greenhouse. De Greenhouse is een intiem en stijlvol restaurant wat ruimte biedt voor slechts 45 gasten. Ook dit restaurant behoort tot de top van Zuid Afrika. En mis hier ook het wijnarrangement niet. Hierbij wordt namelijk  geëxperimenteerd met allerlei soorten wijn. Hier lees je meer over The Greenhouse.

The Pot Lock Club
The Pot Luck Club ligt in de trendy wijk Woodstock, in het hippe The Old Biscuit Mill. Ook het restaurant The Test Kitchen is hier gelegen. Dit is overigens van dezelfde eigenaar chef kok Luke Dale-Roberts. Inmiddels heeft hij weer een nieuw restaurant geopend: The Shortmarket Club. Dit keer in het centrum, in een zijstraat van Bree Street. Helaas is het nog niet gelukt om bij The Test Kitchen en The Shortmarket Club te eten. In september, als ik weer in Kaapstad ben, hoop ik mijn blog te kunnen aanvullen met The Test Kitchen en The Shortmarket Club.
Verder met de The Pot Luck Club. Via de lift kom je bij het restuarant. Het restaurant is dus hoog gelegen. Je kunt over Kaapstad en de haven heen kijken. Super uitzicht. Normaal moet je ver van te voren reserveren, maar wij hadden geluk met de lunch. Ze hadden nog een plekje!. Met haar tapas-style-menu is het iets  toegankelijker dan The Test Kitchen.

The Test Kitchen
Ik ben natuurlijk wel even binnen gaan kijken bij de The Test Kitchen. Het interieur is simpel, maar toch hip. Bij de gerechten is creativiteit het sleutelwoord. Dat zorgt voor interessante combinaties, waar het restaurant al vele prijzen mee heeft gewonnen. Je snapt ik sta te popelen om hier snel een keer te kunnen dineren.

The Pot Lock Club en The Test Kitchen zijn beiden gelegen in Woodstock. Woodstock is een steeds hippere wijk, die overdag en vooral in het weekend steeds bruisender aan het worden is. Maar in de avond kan het best gevaarlijk zijn en waar je liever niet op eigen houtje heen wilt gaan. Houd daar dus rekening mee. Gewoon met de taxi dus.

The Roundhouse

The Roundhouse is denk wel een van de meest romantische finedining restaurants in de omgeving van Kaapstad. Het uitzicht is erg bijzonder. Dus boek een tafel bij het raam, zodat je van de zonsondergang kunt genieten. The Roundhouse ligt namelijk in de heuvels van Campsbay, hierdoor heb je een waanzinnig uitzicht over Camps Bay en de oceaan.
Naast The Roundhouse ligt Rumbullion. Ook dit is echt een aanrader om heen te gaan. Dit is een lunch plek waar je aan de picknick tafels kunt genieten van het eten en mooie uitzicht.
