La Colombe behoort  tot mijn favoriet van culinair eten in Zuid Afrika. La Colombe is gesitueerd in  mooie omgeving van het wijngebied Constantia. La Colombe komt op de tweede plek van beste restaurant van Zuid Afrika direct na The Test Kitchen. In 2017 staat La Colombe op de 73e plek in de lijst van The World’s Best Restaurants. Zeker een aanrader dus om culinair te dineren. En ga dan voor het uitgebreide Sample menu met wijn arrangement! Chef Scot Kirton zorgt voor de ene na de andere smaakexplosie in je mond. De keuken is Frans, zowel klassiek als modern, met een moderne, frisse twist en duidelijke Aziatische invloeden. En over de wijnen nog niet gesproken. La Colombe heeft een prijs-winnende wijnlijst. Een avond dineren bij La Colombe kun je dus niet overslaan als je in Kaapstad bent. En door de gunstige Zuid Afrikaanse rand valt het qua prijs echt wel mee. Het is een heel stuk goedkoper dan een sterren restaurant in Nederland. En sinds afgelopen augustus is in Franschhoek La Petite Colombe geopend. Ook daar hebben we gereserveerd. Dus wordt vervolgd!
